A Winning Night on the Court: “Night at the Net” Raises $21K for Local Youth

Doylestown, PA – On Saturday, October 4th, the Mullaney Tennis Foundation (MTF) hosted its inaugural “Night at the Net” fundraiser at the Doylestown Tennis Club, bringing together over 90 enthusiastic supporters in the spirit of community and philanthropy. Thanks to the generous contributions of attendees and local businesses, the event raised over $21,000, an impressive show of support for the foundation’s mission.

The evening featured an array of activities, including organized tennis drills led by Jim Klein and the talented pros of Doylestown Tennis Club, as well as fun yet competitive doubles matches that kept everyone on their toes. Participants enjoyed fantastic food provided by Altomonte’s Italian Market and sipped on beverages from an open bar, which included the crowd-favorite “MTF Honey Deuce” cocktail, crafted by Karen Mullaney herself. A highlight of the event was a surprise appearance by former Doylestown Tennis Club Teaching Pro Ryan Reidy, founder of the successful online coaching platform “2 Minute Tennis.” Guests were thrilled to see him back on the court, sharing his expertise and passion for the game.

Adding to the evening’s entertainment was magician Bill Kerrwood, who captivated guests with his live performances, providing a delightful and engaging atmosphere throughout the night. The silent auction was a focal point of the evening, featuring unique items that drew considerable interest. Among the standout pieces was a commissioned sketch of Tiger Woods for the PGA Hall of Fame, created by artist Glenn Harrington. Additionally, a beautifully hand-carved wooden bowl by Bud Hohlfeld of Roundwood Studi, showcased exquisite craftsmanship.

The Mullaney Tennis Foundation extends its heartfelt thanks to all the supporters, donors, and volunteers who made this event a wonderful success. Together, we are making a positive impact on the underserved youths of Bucks County through our generosity, compassion and our love of tennis!
